From Canon City to Montrose, CO
Day four in Canon City. Today smoke was starting to roll in. It was beginning to feel like the Eagles Song, “Hotel California”, “You can check out anytime, but you can never leave” Had planned on leaving two days ago. I set out for Montrose, CO. The is my third time in four years here. It has changed/grew a lot. What I have been told, this year, is a lot of these smaller communities is, the Californians leaving California due to the high cost of living there. They come to these places to start over. Same is happening in San Antonio. With that comes higher cost of living. Upsetting the Eco system or the status quo of the community, I guess. Most like the new businesses coming in, but not the, traffic and higher cost of living, i.e. property that comes with it.
Today was somewhat hazy. 187 miles, eta of 3 hours 45 minutes but, I stop a lot to shoot photos. I must say today not so much. Had about a half hour stop for road construction but I only stopped four other times. Just cruising along with the iPhone camera in one hand and the camera remote/steering wheel in other shooting away.
It’s consistent. I normally shoot between three and five hundred a day. Today was no exception, four. An open highway shoot today with some odd photos here and there.
Auh! and Denny’s open all night so I can go thru them all to post the best plus cool nights at Walmart.
A perfect writing, photo editing and sleeping arrangement.
Tomorrow? Don’t know if I will leave here or not.
