Well, the sun and blue skies my what I wanted for Christmas. I hit the road back to Gunnison to get some photos while it was sunny. Once there, I took a turn and ended up at Mount Crested Butte. Sky resort village. Never heard of it and if you ask me how to get there, I couldn’t tell you. I was truly in the wind today.
Being is was Christmas Day, hardly anyone on the roads. NICE!!!
They had a 41-inch blizzard. I don’t know when; the last couple days I’m guessing. Those days that I drove thru cold, wet, snowy and gray mountain passes.
What an incredible day. Pine trees covering in the white powder. Snow drifts that reminded me of Great Sand Dune National Park. They looked like huge blue waves that were frozen in time.
I stopped a lot like I always do to shot photos. I began to count the number of times but forgot to continue. I’ll blame it on the view. However, I did take note of how many photos I shot today; 912 to be exact. It’s hard to believe. Driving and shooting, and stopping and shooting, and walking and shooting. It has taken me three hours to choose which photos to post this evening. I grabbed 80 out of the 912. Could have chosen more, but had to finish. Truly a labor of love.
I seems I was blessed with this day because, they said they are in for some big snow storms/blizzards in the coming days.
It was the perfect day.
It was the Christmas I asked for.
Merry Christmas Everyone
