Glacier MT
Kalispell MT
Left Great Falls around 11am….
Arrive Glacier entering the park on the east side. Was going to cross the Going to the Sun Road to the west side. But, the road was closed 14 miles in. Suppose to be open the end of the month or the beginning of July. I was here in 2017. I couldn’t see anything because of the forest fires.
So, I drove back out of the park, south and up to Kalispell. Stayed here a couple of days in 2017.
Not sure if I will go back into Glacier on the west entrance to the road closure tomorrow.
The view today was great. I met a painter, Dave. He was painting the scenery. Saw several as I was driving in. They are going to have an exhibit here in Kalispell this weekend of all the paintings. Pretty cool.
I’m here in Applebee’s now… Nowhere else that stays open past 9pm to post this.
Met, another Jenny, a bright waitress who loves her job. A radiant smile. I was sort of embarrassed when I asked her where she got the accent since she was born here in Kalispell MT but sounds like she is from Ireland. She said she is Norwegian and has a speech impediment. She said she gets it a lot and not to worry. Some say she sounds like she is from Britain and some say from Czechoslovakia. Very confident young woman. Just a lot of fun to talk to. She said she is going to take a road trip of all 50 states in the next couple years.
Tomorrow,, the west side of Glacier or head up the Canada.
