Left San Antonio at around 4pm, yesterday, Friday the 21st. Arrived and spent the night in Admore OK.Left Admore on the 22nd and arrived Tulsa at around 4:00
My Nieces (Rebecca) husband (Ron) is competing in the Tulsa IRONMAN Championship tomorrow, Sunday the 23rd.
I will be meeting him at the finish line along with his sister Lyn and her husband Matt.
I’ve heard of the IROAN Competition and probably heard about the distances but didn’t really pay attention until now.
1st a 2.4 mile swim
then
2nd a 112 mile bike
then
3rd a 26.2 mile marathon run
It never really hit me until I saw it all on the course map. Ron hopes to complete in 11 hours. The last day of last years trip, I pushed and drove from Roswell NM to San Antonio, TX. With stops, it took around eleven hours. Swim, bike and run for 11 hours. Hard for me to wrap my head around all that.
