Day 147 – 18 Oct – Streamwood, Illinois
Stopped to meet Alex. Alex came to the United States from Moldova in 2007.  It is between Ukraine and Romania.   Ex-Soviet Union. The photos are from his current and fourth build.   Originally, Alex and family took a long road trip from Florida the western states.  He works as a truck driver delivering Bees to farmers for pollination.   Alex builds Camper Vans as a hobby now.   Taking his time creating these homes on wheels.

I am honored to have met Alex.   Just a great guy that will work his customer to accommodate their needs.  He took the time to explain all the details.   If I decide to buy from him, he offered to drive to Chicago to pick me up because it would be a cheaper air fare for me.  Check out his work on his Facebook page at:

Day 148 – 19 Oct – St Louis Missouri
The Arch is incredible.  It is hard to explain in words.  Photos are the best I can do and a bit of history.
The arch was designed by Finnish-born American architect Eero Saarinen in 1948 and was constructed between 1963 and 1965. The arch represents a door to the western part of the country.  630 feet (192 metres) tall, and the distance between its two legs is equal to its height.  I

I went to the top which was an experience all its own.   If was like a scene in a Sci-Fi movie. 4 ft. doors open, inside a pod with 5 seats.   4 minutes up – 3 minutes down.

I went down by the Mississippi to take some shots and met Mike.  He had this little scooter called a “Wolf”.   I told him it would be kind of cool to have on the back of my Camper Van if I want to just run around a city I’m at.  Asked how much something like that cost.
Mike said.“$1400.00 new but I got mine at a pawn shop for $700.00.”  He said it doesn’t have to licensed.  It is seen as bike.  I asked how fast and how is it on gas,
“It will go about 50 miles per hour but I don’t drive it that fast.  It gets about 60 mile per gallon.  Today I just put a cup of gas in it.”

I have to check into this when I get back.  I looks like a lot of fun and it’s quiet.

Spent the whole day there.  The clouds and the changing light from the sun made for some great shots.
Hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them.

St Louis is a cool city.  I need to come back to spend more time.  Heading back to San Antonio. Friend who is watching my house called. Went in to check on things.  It was over a hundred degrees inside.   The air conditioner stopped running and for some reason, the heat was on.  Couldn’t shut if off without pulling the circuit breaker on the outside of the house.  I wonder what I’m instore for when I return.

NOTE: I have to mention.  I bought the new iPhone 11 Pro Max.  The iPhone you see on commericals with three lenses.  Exceptional camera.  Photos posted with this iPhone.
