Day 15 June 19
Cranbrook Canada

Well, my traveling companion got away from a glue trap last night.   I heard it moving around and then a thrashing sound.    I concluded it got stuck on the trap and I will take care of it in the morning.    Then I thought, no it may get away.  So I got up, turn the light on and its two hind legs were stuck on the trap.  The rest of the body off the trap trying to pull away.    Ok. So I pick up the trap and the weight of the body let loose the legs and the little fella ran behind the dash board.    DAMN IT   I should have taken the second glue trap and put it on top of it.   A sort of a “Glue trap mouse sandwich” if you can picture it.

So I move the traps around and watch….. Smart little thing, it knew not to step in it.   I even put one in side of a nut bag with a few walnuts.  Fell back asleep, woke up to more noise.   Thought, “Got-um.”  Nope, little shit somehow pulled trap out of the bag.  I was sitting there chomping on a Walnut.

I can’t say for sure, but I believe I did see it flip me off with its middle claw.

Ok, It’s personal now.  I have to take drastic measures.   I go buy the old traditional mouse traps.   Got some cheese snacks.

Drove up to Cranbrook, Canada.  Thought, this is going to be your last ride, you little shit.    Parked at, “Hot Shots Café.”    I was going to wait til tonight to set the traps but why not go head and try while I’m in the coffee shop.   Ate the cheese snack except for two bits to put in the traps.  I strategically place the traditional traps and the glue traps in areas I surveilled the past two nights.

In the coffee shop for about two hours.  Why not go out and take a look.   I open the driver’s door.  NO!
Go around and open the passenger’s door.  YES!   Got-um….

I blacked out the eyes in case it was on the witness protection program of any kind or if PETA recognizes it.

So. Looking forward to a restful night sleep unless that little shit has a mate in the Element.    If that’s the case, I’m driving back to Texas to sell the Element, mouse included.

Wish you had let it free outside and meet a Canadian mate

I couldn’t get it out the door. It was either trap it or let it chew wires up in the dash. Couldn’t let that happen. It’s in a better place.
